Technician (On-site/Hybrid)

About The Position
VAA is hiring a Technician for its General Arrangement team, which works on projects for agribusiness clients. The team collaborates with internal and external partners to deliver process flow diagrams, equipment lists, and facility layouts for bulk material handling facilities such as feed mills, export terminals, and grain elevators. The Technician works with designers and engineers to provide drawing preparation and drafting support for projects from concept through construction documents. The role may involve occasional travel to construction job sites.
Requirements
- A certificate in construction-related design or drafting, or higher; alternatively, at least 1 year of directly related experience.
- Include the qualifying certificate or experience on the resume.
Responsibilities
- Prepare drawings and provide drafting support for projects from concept phase through construction documents.
- Set up plans, sections, and details to specified CAD standards under the direction of others.
- Identify redlines on drawings created by others and accurately make the required changes.
- Develop design skills and technical expertise.
- Coordinate plotter maintenance and project archiving as requested.
- Travel occasionally to construction job sites, as required.
