About The Position

This role involves assisting with the startup, operation, and shutdown of production equipment, as well as handling raw materials and finished goods. The technician will be responsible for packaging products, monitoring quality, and ensuring equipment operates within standards. Adherence to food safety, sanitation, GMP, HACCP, and SQF requirements is crucial. The position also supports heat treatment processes, cleaning and sanitation, and identifying/communicating safety and quality concerns. Troubleshooting, waste handling, and documentation are also key aspects of the role. High-performance expectations include taking ownership of results, collaborating across teams, participating in continuous improvement, cross-training, and skill development.

Requirements

  • Drivers are to have a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and medical card.
  • Be trained and licensed to operate a commercial vehicle and operate it in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; and to talk; or hear.
  • Ability to work in high heat temperatures.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, additional weight if assisted.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color and depth vision.
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock or vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
  • Exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Tree Nuts, Milk/Dairy, eggs, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with startup, operation, and shutdown of production equipment
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished goods from machines, racks, and carts
  • Package finished products and prepare them for shipment
  • Monitor product quality, including verifying ingredients, lot numbers, and date codes
  • Perform quality checks and pull damaged or non-conforming product from the line
  • Read gauges, record production data, and ensure equipment is operating within standards
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, GMP, HACCP, and SQF requirements
  • Support heat treatment processes and ensure all required procedures are followed exactly
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work areas to maintain audit-ready conditions
  • Identify and communicate safety hazards, quality concerns, or process deviations
  • Participate in troubleshooting equipment and process issues
  • Handle scrap and waste in accordance with company procedures
  • Maintain proper documentation and production records
  • Rotate across multiple lines and departments as part of cross-training
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership
