About The Position

Nixon is hiring Generator Technician Trainees for a full-time, nine-week program that combines hands-on experience, classroom-style learning, and mentorship from experienced Technicians. After completing the program, trainees may have the opportunity to be promoted to Technician Level C and continue their professional growth and development. Openings are available in Atlanta, Georgia; Charlotte, North Carolina; Little Rock, Arkansas; Nashville, Tennessee; Orlando, Florida and surrounding areas; and New Orleans, Louisiana and surrounding areas. Nixon seeks team members who demonstrate a positive attitude, accountability, customer focus, competitiveness, and a team-player mentality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• No work experience is needed.
• Interest in mechanics, electrical work, or engines.
• Ability to travel and stay out of town during the training program.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well with supervision.
• Ability to problem-solve and make logical decisions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
• Clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Participate in hands-on and classroom-style training activities.
• Assist Technicians with testing, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
• Follow safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Document all work and repairs clearly and concisely.
• Carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Safely drive a service vehicle; no CDL is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
