About The Position

The Operating Room Scrub Technician is a key member of the perioperative team and works under the direction of the Registered Nurse and surgeon to support safe, high-quality surgical care. The role prepares the operating room, maintains the sterile field, and provides instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures. It requires adherence to aseptic technique, infection prevention standards, and established surgical policies while anticipating the needs of the surgical team throughout the operative process.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Successful completion of an accredited surgical technology program and associated hours.
Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile field maintenance, surgical instrumentation, and operating room protocols.
Ability to anticipate surgeon and procedural needs across a variety of surgical specialties.
Experience assisting with surgical counts, specimen handling, patient positioning, prepping, and draping.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team.
Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to support patient safety.
BLS required.

Previous experience functioning as a Scrub Technician in an operating room setting.
