About The Position

The Technician, Rigging Auto at Zouk Nightclub is responsible for operating Niscon automation control systems and rigging equipment safely and consistently for performances, training, and maintenance operations. This role involves assisting the Manager in ensuring the safe setup, use, and maintenance of all rigging equipment, as well as assisting with inventory and technical equipment maintenance. The technician will adhere to safety standards and regulations, develop a thorough knowledge of automation rigging equipment, and maintain documentation. Responsibilities also include inspecting and maintaining rigging systems, updating maintenance records, implementing safety inspection programs, and participating in special projects. The role requires the ability to work at heights and adhere to OSHA regulations. Team members are expected to use personal devices for job-related tasks and perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience as a show rigger; experience with CM hoists an asset.
  • Ability to run an automation console in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Good general understanding of rigging safety.
  • Working knowledge and experience with industrial machines, motors, gearboxes, and related tools, including uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of electrical safety.
  • Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor.
  • Personnel management experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Flexibility, autonomy, team player.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of previous experience operating and maintaining motion control systems and/or theater experience with large-scale productions.
  • Technical-level knowledge and experience with digital and analog A/V technologies.
  • Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
  • Previous experience working in Nightlife.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Niscon automation control systems and cue tracks safely and consistently for performances, training, and maintenance operations.
  • Operate rigging equipment during performances and rehearsals.
  • Assist the Manager in ensuring the safe setup, use, and maintenance of rigging equipment used by Talent during performances, rehearsals, and training periods.
  • Assist with inventory and, if necessary, identify any additional rigging equipment that may be required.
  • Assist with the maintenance of technical equipment.
  • Adhere to standards and regulations about the safety of automation rigging equipment and comply with safe working methods.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of automation rigging equipment specific to the production to operate it safely.
  • Maintain cue track documentation and participate in cue track rotation as directed.
  • Inspect and maintain rigging system, automation system, motorized equipment, and supporting systems as directed.
  • Update maintenance and inspection records within Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as other show-specific software and maintenance databases.
  • Implement, document, and ensure compliance with the automation rigging equipment safety inspection program.
  • Participate in special projects including the installation of new automated show elements, and interdepartmental projects that include automated elements or other needs that may fall within the technician’s specialty as directed.
  • Ability to work high above the ground (climbing abilities essential).
  • Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training.
  • Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.
