Spacelabs is looking for a Technician to support the development of New HW designs in addition to our Legacy platform products. You will collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, SW, Compliance/Safety Engineers and managers. This role requires 100% onsite collaboration at Spacelabs headquarters in Snoqualmie, WA.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years’ experience with Surface Mount Soldering techniques, required.
  • Experience with PCB rework, revision control, troubleshooting, component substitution and documentation, required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience completing technical documentation for engineering.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend and lift up to 25lbs required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree, preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in analog and digital electronic design support, preferred.
  • Experience planning and conducting rigorous design of experiments and tests to validate designs.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of component qualifications and root cause investigations is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with global teams, preferred.
  • Familiar with CAD and EDA tool products [i.e. Solidworks, Allegro and Altium].

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for New Product Development
  • Provide technical support for Legacy products and related Sustaining projects
  • Order, test and manage PCBA’s & all prototype assemblies.
  • Provide tech support for other electrical, electronic and mechanical components and subassemblies. [i.e. cables, connectors, housings, battery subsystems]
  • Perform component and subsystem level testing, prototyping and design work.
  • Maintain and organize the hardware laboratory to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment.
  • Manage laboratory equipment inventory, including tracking assets, locations, calibration status, and maintenance records.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, calibration, repair, and certification activities for test and measurement equipment.
  • Set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve electrical and mechanical test stations, fixtures, and laboratory infrastructure.
  • Maintain consumables, tools, cables, adapters, and spare parts inventory; initiate replenishment activities as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures, ESD controls, quality system requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Support laboratory audits and inspections by maintaining accurate equipment, calibration, and maintenance records.
  • Assist engineering teams with test setup preparation, equipment configuration, PCB rework and laboratory logistics.
  • Proactive communication, both written and verbal.
  • Contribute to technical and maintenance documentation as needed (ECO/EO, CAR, Test reports, etc.).
  • Regularly report individual project status to Engineering, Project Managers, and Functional Managers.
  • Interface with departmental staff in all Research & Development to facilitate the completion of project tasks by providing technical support to in-house personnel.
  • Planning and management of prototype builds including PCB, BOM, purchasing, kitting, shipping & receiving.
  • Experience working with local vendors and suppliers for HW test, EMC, build and related tasks.
