About The Position

Works under the direct supervision of the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care services while considering patient-specific factors. Prioritizes and processes medication orders, prepares medications for dispensing, and distributes and stocks patient-care locations for subsequent drug administration. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience as required by the job.
• Computer, typing, calculation, and communication skills.
• State Board of Pharmacy registration required in the state where work is performed, in accordance with that state's rules and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a setting involving medication distribution.
• Previous hospital experience.
• Technician training program or academy.
• CPHT.

Responsibilities

• Procures, handles, prepares, distributes, charges or credits, and disposes of medication safely and accurately as part of the Medication-Use Process.
• Manages own pharmacy practice effectively.
• Processes and prepares sterile products for dispensing.
• Participates in inventory management.
• Uses and maintains automation and equipment.
• Assists the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients.
• Contributes to goals, programs, and report cards for the operational unit and entity.
• Provides education and training.
• Completes assigned goals.
