About The Position

The Technician, NPI Engineering 1 builds new cable and harness products under the guidance of the Engineering Group. The role involves understanding schematics, determining dimensions, and performing required manufacturing operations. While building new products, the technician learns to write processes that establish manufacturing production procedures. Clear communication is important to success in this role.

Requirements

Experience building cable assemblies.
Typically 0–2 years of prior manufacturing and hands-on experience.
High school diploma or equivalent, with basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Manufacturing experience with technical insight into specific equipment or processes.
Ability to follow verbal instructions and manufacturing designs, drawings, and diagrams.
Computer skills, including familiarity with manufacturing software, Intuitive Software, and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with IPC 610 / 620 certifications and ISO 9000 standards.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to work with direction in a team environment and adapt to changing demands, schedules, and assignments.
Knowledge of tools and manufacturing operations.
Ability to perform basic navigation through customer documentation and understand drawing requirements, notes, and specifications.
Accountability for individual results and ability to follow detailed instructions.
Knowledge of and participation in the 5S Program, and adherence to safety practices and quality system requirements.

Responsibilities

Build new cable and harness products under the guidance of the Engineering Group.
Understand schematics, determine dimensions, and perform required manufacturing operations.
Develop manufacturing processes while building new products.
Navigate customer prints, wiring diagrams, and customer-supplied documentation to build new products.
Understand requirements, notes, and specifications on drawings.
Recognize non-conformance or process problems, troubleshoot issues, and recommend solutions for process or product concerns.
Take pictures with an approved camera to assist with process writing.
Perform required preventative maintenance with direction from engineering.
Provide work direction and training to others as requested.
Participate in the 5S Program and adhere to established safety practices and quality system requirements.
Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
