About The Position

This position supports multiple IU Health facilities and is responsible for responding to daily maintenance requests and work orders, performing general maintenance, and completing preventive maintenance. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing building systems, maintaining and inspecting equipment, conducting inspections, and collaborating with other departments to ensure facility systems support patient care needs. The ideal candidate will be dependable, self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and possess strong problem-solving skills with experience in hand and power tools, as well as knowledge of mechanical, lighting, and fire systems.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant maintenance experience
• General knowledge of: Electrical secondary systems, Plumbing systems, Fire system devices, Air/HVAC systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
• Basic computer skills required
• Valid Indiana driver’s license with proof of insurance may be required

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of healthcare building codes preferred

Responsibilities

• Respond to daily maintenance requests and work orders from staff
• Perform general maintenance including: Electrical (secondary systems), Plumbing, Painting, Hardware repairs
• Complete both scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance
• Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including: Plumbing, HVAC/air systems, and electrical systems
• Maintain, inspect, and repair equipment in accordance with code and regulatory requirements
• Conduct routine building and grounds inspections
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities
• Recommend improvements to facility systems to support patient care needs
• Perform additional duties as assigned
