Technician, Maintenance Night (Manufacturing)
About The Position
Gildan is a leading manufacturer of everyday basic apparel, with a strong portfolio of brands. The opportunity is to maintain equipment in proper working order by completing preventive maintenance tasks as described in assigned work orders. The role involves making rounds on associated HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation, performing troubleshooting and repair work on HVAC equipment, and completing preventive maintenance tasks as assigned. During shutdown periods, the technician will perform various tasks including operating a pressure washer, lubricating machinery, working in ductwork, lifting and moving equipment, and cleaning filtration systems. The role also includes assisting other maintenance personnel and using compressed air for cleaning. Marginal functions include picking up trash outside facilities, painting as assigned, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Variety of hand tools, power tools, pressure washer, forklift, pallet jack, tugger/pullcat, scrubber, mop, scissor lift, ladder, safety equipment.
- Water, oil, gas, variety of water treatment chemicals, degreasers, lubricants.

Responsibilities
- Make rounds on associated HVAC equipment to insure proper operation.
- Performs troubleshooting and repair work on HVAC equipment.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Lead Electrician.
- During shutdown perform a variety of tasks including, operating a pressure washer, lubricating of machinery, crawling through ductwork, lifting and moving equipment and tools, removing trash and dust from filtration systems.
- Assist other maintenance personnel when required.
- Use compressed air for cleaning purposes is required.
- Picking up trash outside of facilities.
- Painting as assigned.
- Maintain work environment in a clean safe work manor.
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.
