About The Position

Performs, as directed, necessary maintenance of the facility, equipment, and grounds in a timely and cost-efficient manner. The position performs on-site equipment service and repair, follows safe work practices, manages waste generated by assigned work, and completes the First Solar Maintenance Technician 1 training program. This position has no direct reports and requires no travel outside the First Solar work site. The job description may change at any time. Candidates who receive an offer must successfully complete a background check and any other required tests.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one of the following: six months of First Solar manufacturing experience; six months of outside manufacturing, mechanical, or agricultural experience; military experience; or graduation from a vocational high school, for which no experience is required.
• Verifiable technical skills and/or background.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skill.
• Knowledge of computer applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Proven communication skills.
• Ability to follow safe work practices.
• Ability to meet the stated physical and vision requirements, including wearing required personal protective equipment as a condition of employment and continued employment.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in a technical field.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment.
• Proven electro/mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, vacuum systems, and robotics.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily assignments as scheduled and directed.
• Perform on-site service and repair of equipment.
• Meet at least 70% of Estimated Repair Times.
• Collaborate with other departments.
• Follow standard OSHA, EPA, and company safe practices on all work assignments.
• Read electrical and mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Manage waste generated from work as instructed.
• Complete the First Solar Maintenance Technician 1 training program.
• Perform other assignments and duties as required.
