Provides hands-on support to Engineering/Production/Manufacturing by performing activities such as, test, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of RF Antennas, IR/Visible Light cameras and LIDAR systems for the Lunar Vehicles. Work may include PCBA assembly or rework, internal cable harness fabrication, precision assembly of optical/laser components and general mechanical assembly. Work is performed from schematics, diagrams, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Performs work in both Laboratory setting as well as work on manufacturing floor or on vehicle depending on manufacturing needs. This role is part of the Engines, In-Space Systems and Test Ops group and is in Kent but supports the Lunar Permanence group. As part of a hardworking team of technicians, you will assemble, repair, and evaluate electrical and mechanical assemblies. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the production, evaluation, and development of flight grade Lunar Avionics assemblies. Work in the Lab requires a high level of technical proficiency in work such as soldering, component-level board work, mechanical assembly, and assembly wiring.
