About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Repair/Service Technician to perform maintenance on company fleet equipment and customer-owned generator sets. Responsibilities include inspection, servicing, diagnostics and troubleshooting, repair, and component rebuilds to restore equipment to full operational condition. The ideal candidate is an experienced diesel generator mechanic with strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, particularly in identifying and resolving electrical issues in the generator end.

Requirements

• Knowledge of theory, principles and repairs relating to internal combustion engines, electrical circuits and mechanical mechanisms.
• Experience in repairing various types of machinery and equipment.
• Capability to lift heavy objects as required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and diagrams.
• Skills in providing technical support and troubleshooting issues.
• Skilled in the use of test equipment and well versed in the use of computers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in mechanic work or equipment repair preferred.
• New or recent technical school graduates also encouraged to apply.
• Experience in repairing generators or power systems preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conducting repairs, service and preventative maintenance work on generators and other types of equipment once properly trained.
• Perform equipment repairs and maintenance in the shop and on customer sites.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machinery and equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure proper functioning of equipment.
• Complete service reports and document all work performed.
• Collaborate with customers to provide technical support and resolve any issues.
• After hours on call schedule once fully trained.
