About The Position

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 4 is responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance (Dematic DMS and conveyor equipment). Acts as a senior material handling technician on all equipment installed at the Kansas City, MO site location. Aids and mentors lower-level employees. This role will require you to work Sunday - Thursday, 9pm - 5am. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Confirmed senior-level knowledge, with 5-7 years of experience in a technical or specialty area.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the responsibilities outlined above, with a successful track record.
  • Strong customer-facing skills, maintaining professional communication with onsite customer leadership, Dematic leadership, and technicians.
  • Ability to lead projects, develop teams, and manage day-to-day operations and tasks for the onsite maintenance team.
  • Physical capability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly perform activities involving bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitations.
  • Comfort in working under multifaceted conditions, including tight spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, loud noises, and wet or uneven surfaces.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate’s degree or vocational technical training is helpful, and niche skill training/certification is highly valuable.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain Material Handling Equipment (MHE), focusing on belt tracking, component adjustment/replacement, and component lubrication.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines and procedures, ensuring efficient equipment performance.
  • Apply electrical test equipment for fixing and repairing electrical circuitry.
  • Construct and finalize work orders in the asset management system, meticulously detailing labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
  • Solve conveyance issues and determine vital resources to resolve them successfully.
  • Lead spare part's inventory to minimize downtime.
  • Perform sophisticated maintenance and equipment testing, ensuring all systems meet strict specifications.
  • Train customers to operate equipment confidently.
  • Respond promptly to service calls, addressing equipment failures and faults with precision.
  • Identify and resolve problems as they occur, ensuring efficient operations.
