About The Position

Performs a variety of the more complicated tasks in support of the professional staff within the assigned unit. Work assignments may be in the office and/or at field sites. A willingness to travel and/or to relocate is expected. May act in a lead capacity in wastewater treatment operations and maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, or equivalent, and typically 6+ years of related work experience, or a Associate's Degree in a related field with 4+ years of experience.
  • Completion of a 40-hour OSHA training course (with an annual 8-hour update) is required for industrial or hazardous wastewater operations.
  • Competency in performing typical Technician assignments and responsibilities, as well as tasks and testing techniques related to operations.

Responsibilities

  • Performs non-routine and occasionally heavy labor tasks related to on-site industrial waster, hazardous waste, field environmental surveys or operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Collects samples and maintain documentation in record logs.
  • Operates trucks, pumps, vacuum equipment, oil booms, generators, and other machinery/equipment. Establishes and maintains appropriate logs of activities.
  • Tests, calibrates, repairs, and modifies control and instrumentation systems at on-site locations under general supervision. Some assignments are undertaken independently. May give some leadership and guidance to lower level Technicians.
  • Prepares required field and office reports of various activities and findings. May initiate reports and/or establish and maintain logs and records.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
