The Chemline Technician I supports chemical processing operations by performing manual and chemical cleaning processes to ensure parts meet quality, safety, and process specifications. This role prepares and maintains chemistry tanks according to defined recipes, operates processing equipment, and follows established SOPs, Lean practices, and safety standards. By maintaining organized work areas, handling hazardous chemicals responsibly, completing required training, and continuously developing technical skills, the technician helps ensure efficient operations, environmental compliance, and consistent product quality.

Requirements

  • Ability to handle repetitive work and provide fast turn-around on production related to masking, wiping, processing parts.
  • Good verbal and written communications
  • Computer literate, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule including some weekend and evening work.
  • Must be able to wear work area gowning: hairnet and frock.
  • Maintain a high degree of safety and environmental awareness through the practice of safe work habits and 6S
  • Ability to take SPC measurements and log data
  • Computer literate, knowledge of MS Word, and Excel is preferred.
  • 1-year experience in manufacturing processes or materials.

Nice To Haves

  • AA degree in a Technical field or some college preferred
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience preferred.
  • Experience in parts cleaning and coating technologies is desired.
  • Kaizen or Lean training is a major plus.
  • Media blast experience.
  • Quality Assurance experience.
  • Previous experience in the Parts cleaning industry is a major plus.
  • High-Tech or Semiconductor experience.

Responsibilities

  • Process parts utilizing both chemical and manual cleaning methods.
  • May perform receiving, processing, wiping, scrubbing, masking, chemical processing, machine operating, etching, blasting, coating, drying, baking, and other processes, as needed.
  • Follows all SOPs, Lean manufacturing processes, company policies, and practices.
  • Complete training on assigned processes.
  • Perform daily organization and upkeep of assigned process area.
  • Attend monthly safety meetings and training programs.
  • Handle hazardous chemicals correctly and safely.
  • Follow all policies and directions for safe use of and proper disposal of hazardous chemicals
  • Participation and adherence to safety program and completion of various pieces of training.
  • Learn and understand a variety of tank chemistries.
  • Follow the chemical recipe to prepare chemistry tanks.
  • Maintain a high degree of safety and environmental awareness through the practice of safe work habits.
  • Seeks to advance skills and learn new processes.
