About The Position

Sunstate Equipment Co. is hiring a Technician III-Shop. This role is based in our Austin, TX shop, with occasional needs for field maintenance and repair of equipment. Sunstate Equipment Co. values safety and people, offering competitive pay, weekly paychecks, and a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM with overtime eligibility. The company offers a pay range dependent on experience, starting at $30+ per hour, plus a discretionary quarterly branch performance bonus. A $7,500 retention bonus is also available, paid out over 24 months.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 to 3+ years’ experience as a diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment rental background preferred.
• Intermediate troubleshooting and diagnosing skills with electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment systems.
• Experience performing major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, as well as drive trains is required.
• Must have the necessary tools you need to do the job; averaging $5,000+ in value.
• Team-player, you work well supporting your team to achieve goals.
• You are a self-starter and motivated to be successful.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine service on equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluid and lubricating.
• Perform novice level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW).
• Prepare and maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records.
