Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1.5 years of directly related experience

  • Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
  • Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools
  • Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
  • Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
  • Microsoft Office software expertise, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be customer focused and quality driven
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
  • Ability to travel, up to 5%

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school certification or associate's degree in technical field.
  • Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Office
  • 3+ years of related experience

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support for engineering staff, including performing duties related to routine testing, maintenance, and clean up.
  • Reading and applying test methods and test specifications provided by engineering for EUT (equipment under test).
  • Reading and understanding schematics and manufacturing instructions.
  • Identifying and locating test instruments and equipment required for testing under the scope of the project.
  • Setting up and operating standard test samples and equipment including, but not limited to, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, multi-meter, dielectric strength tester, ground continuity tester, digital multi-meter, surge generator, over-voltage tester, environmental condition chamber, articulated probes.
  • Using hand tools to build/calibrate test fixtures.
  • Operating equipment and performing testing in accordance with approved test plan.
  • Obtaining and recording test data in accordance with standards.
  • Performing basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting equipment as needed.
  • Making recommendations regarding technical decisions relating to the interpretation and applicability of test standards.
  • Communicating with clients and management.
  • Adapting procedures and equipment to meet department needs.
  • Preparing project files for compliance with operating procedures.
  • Assisting with training entry-level technicians.
  • Drafting test reports.
  • Maintaining equipment and facilities.
  • Performing other work as required.
