Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1.5 years of directly related experience

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions

  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
  • Microsoft Office software expertise, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be customer focused and quality driven
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
  • Ability to travel, up to 5%

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school certification or associate's degree in technical field.
  • Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Office
  • 3+ years of related experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for engineering staff, including performing duties related to routine testing, maintenance, and clean up.
  • Read and apply test methods and test specifications provided by engineering for EUT (equipment under test).
  • Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
  • Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing under the scope of the project.
  • Set up and operate standard test samples and equipment including, but not limited to, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, multi-meter, dielectric strength tester, ground continuity tester, digital multi-meter, surge generator, over-voltage tester, environmental condition chamber, articulated probes.
  • Use hand tools to build/calibrate test fixtures.
  • Operate equipment and perform testing in accordance with approved test plan.
  • Obtain and record test data in accordance with standards.
  • Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
  • Make recommendations regarding technical decisions relating to the interpretation and applicability of test standards.
  • Communicate with clients and management.
  • Adapt procedures and equipment to meet department needs.
  • Prepare project files for compliance with operating procedures.
  • Assist with training entry-level technicians.
  • Draft test reports.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities.
  • Perform other work as required.
