Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment or equipment rental background.
  • Intermediate experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engines on heavy construction equipment.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment.
  • Must have the necessary basic tool set to perform the scope of equipment repairs.
  • Eager to learn and grow; open to training on new equipment, technologies, and repair techniques.
  • Attention to detail inspecting, servicing, and testing equipment.
  • Basic understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
  • Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards.
  • Willing and ready to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventative maintenance on heavy construction equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions on heavy construction equipment.
  • Repairing heavy construction equipment.
  • Inspecting, servicing, and testing equipment to ensure performance to manufacturer specifications.
  • Learning new equipment, technologies, and repair techniques.
  • Maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards while performing equipment repairs.
