About The Position
Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Technician II - Shop) to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in diesel mechanics, particularly within the construction equipment or rental industry. Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Construction equipment or equipment rental background.
- Intermediate experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engines on heavy construction equipment.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting/diagnosing malfunctions, and repairing equipment.
- Must have the necessary basic tool set to perform equipment repairs.
- Eager to learn and grow; open to training on new equipment, technologies, and repair techniques.
- Attention to detail inspecting, servicing, and testing equipment.
- Basic understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
- Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards.
- Willing and ready to learn.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on heavy construction equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engines.
- Repair heavy construction equipment.
- Inspect, service, and test equipment to ensure performance to manufacturer specifications.
- Learn and grow within the role, including training on new equipment, technologies, and repair techniques.
- Maintain industry and Sunstate safety standards while performing equipment repairs.
