About The Position

We are seeking a Technician II, Food Safety and Quality Assurance (Bakery) to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ. As a Technician II, FSQA- Bakery, you will be accountable for ensuring food safety, quality compliance, and regulatory adherence by conducting inspections, sampling, testing, and documentation while making real-time decisions that protect our products and customers. This role requires you to be onsite in the bakery, giving you hands-on collaboration with the team and daily exposure to the pulse of the business.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing or related experience
  • Basic knowledge of food safety, quality systems, and troubleshooting in a production environment
  • Ability to operate inspection and measuring equipment (e.g., scales, metal detectors)
  • Proficient computer skills, including SAP, Microsoft Outlook, and Excel
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, and working in varying conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the food manufacturing or bakery industry
  • Completion of college-level science courses
  • Certification or training in HARPC, HACCP, or GFSI standards (SQF, BRC), or willingness to obtain
  • Internal auditing experience or certification
  • 2–3 years of related FSQA experience

Responsibilities

  • Conduct food safety and quality inspections, sampling, and testing to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards
  • Audit products, packaging, and labeling to confirm adherence to Aspire Bakeries’ specifications and customer requirements
  • Identify and manage non-conformances, including placing product holds and escalating issues to leadership
  • Verify compliance with AIMS, HACCP, cGMPs, and GFSI standards (e.g., SQF, BRC)
  • Support internal and external audits, including GMP, hygiene, pest control, and food defense programs
  • Perform environmental monitoring activities and maintain accurate documentation and records
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate issues, support training, and ensure continuous improvement in food safety and quality
