Technician I- 1st Shift
About The Position
This role supports technical operations through hands-on device troubleshooting, repair, testing, and equipment maintenance activities. The team is responsible for evaluating failed devices, identifying root causes, completing repairs, maintaining traceability requirements, and documenting all work performed in accordance with quality standards and established procedures. This position is located in Boulder, Colorado and works onsite five days per week. The scheduled shift is Monday through Friday, 6:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Occasional overtime may be required based on business and production needs. The Technician I role is an entry-level technical position responsible for supporting device repair, troubleshooting, testing, preventive maintenance, and documentation activities. This hands-on role works with electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical systems and requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to accurately document work performed. The individual will follow established procedures, engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions while maintaining quality, traceability, and safety requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 0 years of experience required.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, schematics, and documented procedures.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to enter data, document work performed, and maintain accurate records.
Nice To Haves
- Vocational, technical, or trade school education in electronics, manufacturing, mechanics, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with product assembly, device repair, troubleshooting, or equipment maintenance activities.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word for documentation and recordkeeping.
- Experience documenting repairs, corrective actions, and technical findings in a manufacturing, laboratory, or regulated environment.
- Experience operating test equipment, diagnostic tools, or laboratory instrumentation.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble failed devices and assemblies to identify issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical components, devices, and systems using established procedures and test methods.
- Replace components, complete repairs, and reassemble devices while ensuring adherence to quality and traceability requirements.
- Perform calibration, alignment, and preventive maintenance activities on test equipment and support equipment readiness.
- Operate testing and diagnostic equipment to collect, record, and communicate technical data in approved formats.
- Document repairs, maintenance activities, parts replaced, and technical observations in computer-based systems.
- Follow engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and verbal direction to complete assigned work accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain compliance with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
