About The Position

Airgas is hiring a Repair Technician in Huntsville, AL! This role involves repairing, refurbishing, and maintaining engine-driven welding equipment and generators. The technician will contribute to a safe and supportive working environment, ensuring equipment is ready for rental and maintaining a professional appearance. The position also involves collaborating with the team on equipment assembly, parts ordering, and customer interaction. Occasional on-site service and support for field operations may be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • A Valid Driver License and good driving record

Nice To Haves

  • 0-1 years of related technical experience; we welcome those early in their career or transitioning from similar fields.
  • A working knowledge of power generating and welding equipment is a plus.
  • Thoroughness and care in technical tasks, paired with solid organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive with trusted autonomy while staying connected to team goals.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to a culture of safety by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
  • Restores and maintains all Electric and Engine Drives to ensure peak performance.
  • Collaborates to assemble electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental, ensuring precision and reliability through testing and calibration.
  • Repaints parts, touches up paint, and applies decals to welders to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Identifies and updates parts while completing essential preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinates parts ordering as required to ensure the team can complete repairs efficiently.
  • Inspects returned equipment to ensure proper operation and identify any necessary care.
  • Skilled in using a forklift, pallet jack, or other necessary equipment to organize required parts in the shop.
  • Fosters a clean and organized work environment for the benefit of the whole team.
  • Prepares and completes documentation for all machine repairs.
  • Occasionally provides on-site service to support our equipment and customers.
  • Nurtures open communication with all branch personnel.
  • Occasionally fosters understanding with customers regarding the most effective equipment for their projects.
  • Supports field operations as needed to reach our shared business goals.
  • Performs other related duties as a collaborative team member.
