Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with crew members.
  • Able to lift to 70 lbs.
  • Knowledgeable in packaging and labeling materials.
  • Follows and understands Shipping Procedures.
  • Certified to drive a forklift.
  • Ability to complete work assignment within the time allotted.
  • Maintain and clean the workstation /work environment.
  • Ability to read and understand written procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently & effectively at all times.
  • Ability to assist other crew members in the performance of duties.
  • Knowledgeable with automated systems for shipping (FEDEX, UPS, DHL).
  • Able to accept and follow through when given work directions.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of Shipping/Receiving experience.
  • Work may require the ability to lift 10-20 pounds infrequently.
  • The ability to talk on the phone and use a computer for extended periods of time may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs system transactions relative to shipments.
  • Coordinates and assists with the loading of shipments.
  • Prepares dispatch logs for drivers with routes, drops, and pickups.
  • Maintains communications with drivers during the day and makes routing updates as necessary, including schedule changes.
  • Prepares commercial bills of lading.
  • Prepares IBSS paperwork.
  • Ensures packaging specifications are followed per customer requirements.
  • May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computers, etc.
  • Work may require out-of-town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting).
