About The Position

The STS Group, a globally leading supplier of components and systems for the commercial vehicle and automotive industries headquartered in France, was recently acquired by the Adler Pelzer Group. STS is pioneering operations of Class A surface components for heavy trucks in the USA. This role is for an experienced Shipping Receiving Fork Lift Operator for the manufacturing processes of the brand-new STS start-up in Salem, Virginia - Roanoke, VA area. The Forklift Operator will assist production operations in the manufacturing of the highest quality automotive products as assigned to meet or exceed customer requirements. This role performs all functions as a team player contributing to the success of the whole.

Requirements

  • Forklift experience is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend operational work instructions.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds overhead as needed.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work necessary overtime, which may include weekend work.
  • Applicants must be currently and in the future authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of inventory (FIFO) procedures.
  • Aware of inventory produced by area of responsibility as to maintain adequate stock on hand (safety stock) and that all finished goods meet customer requirements in quality, quantity and proper packaging and labeling.
  • Follows operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments and handling and disposition of materials.
  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment and informs supervisor in order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  • Ensures forklift truck is fully safe to operate by checking for safety items and completing forklift check sheet at beginning of each shift.
  • Ensures lines are supported/stocked to provide an even flow of material to enable production to run.
  • Shares responsibility for rotating inventory to ensure FIFO.
  • Accepts assignments and other responsibilities as required in support of team objectives.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in work area and throughout the plant.
  • Adheres to applicable IATF requirements.
  • All other duties assigned as required to support the plant and its operations.
