About The Position

The Technician I performs basic repairs, inspections, and routine preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers. Work includes checking vehicle fluids, changing tires, greasing mechanical parts, and moving equipment in and out of the shop. The technician is expected to maintain productivity, complete most jobs within or near standard repair times, and maintain reliable attendance and punctuality. The position may be performed at a TTMS site or a TTMS customer location. Other duties may be assigned.

The job is based at the TOTAL terminal in Jackson, Mississippi, and is scheduled Tuesday through Friday and Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The position requires a valid driver’s license and the technician’s own tools adequate to perform the job. O.T. and Brake certifications are required to perform preventive maintenance and brake work. The stated compensation range is $19.44–$23.76.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring, and related components.
• Perform basic and routine preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers.
• Check vehicle fluids, including transmission fluid, oil, windshield-washer fluid, and antifreeze.
• Perform vehicle preventive maintenance according to TTMS preventive-maintenance guidelines.
• Change vehicle tires.
• Grease mechanical parts.
• Move equipment in and out of the shop.
• Maintain productivity and complete most jobs within or close to standard repair times.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality to support efficient and cost-effective department operations.
• Work at a TTMS site or a TTMS customer location while performing the essential functions of the position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
