About The Position

The Technician I is an hourly automotive technician at a high-volume dealership, performing service and repairs on customer and contractor vehicles. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Vocational, technical, or business school education and diagnostic training.
Knowledge of products and automotive repair skills.
Problem-solving ability and basic computer skills.
Minimum of 1–2 years of automotive repair experience; dealership or independent shop experience is preferred.
Own a standard set of automotive tools.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Strong work ethic and desire to grow a career.
Electrical diagnostic skills.
Honesty and integrity, customer-service focus, excellent communication skills, strong technical aptitude, current technological skills, and organization.
Work under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment; refer unusual problems to a supervisor.

ASE certifications or factory training.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of vehicles.
Complete repairs safely and correctly the first time.
Clearly explain lookups, multi-point inspection results, and repair recommendations.
Meet customer and contractor vehicle service and repair needs.
Inspect vehicles against industry-accepted standards.
Use proper and safe techniques to repair vehicles.
Perform minor shop duties, including cleanup and trash removal.
Keep the work area tidy and comply with safety requirements.
