The Technician I is responsible for supporting engineers for testing and equipment/lab maintenance. This position will travel at least 25% of the time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Entry level – no experience required
  • Computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook

  • Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
  • Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools
  • Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
  • Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
  • Must be customer focused and quality driven
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
  • Ability to travel, up to 25%

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school certification or associate’s degree in technical field
  • 1+ year of relatable experience
  • NRTL safety certification experience
  • Experience with PCB soldering, electrical wiring and/or plumbing/HVAC system

Responsibilities

  • Set up tests, test equipment and test apparatus.
  • Prepare test samples.
  • Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner including appearance and attitude.
  • Diligent safety practices, have knowledge of OSHA standards, and use of safety equipment as required by management.
  • Work closely with engineers and take directions to complete projects within certain policies and procedures.
  • Daily cleanup and maintenance of labs, testing equipment, samples, and organize all tools and materials.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety.
  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
  • Obtaining and recording test data in accordance with standards.
  • Performing basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.
  • Perform other work as required.
