About The Position

The Technician I, Quality Assurance ensures the quality of snack food products through testing and analysis of products and packaging. The role involves collecting product samples, performing quality checks, inspecting packaging, completing quality-control documentation, and following food-safety and sanitation procedures. The position is based in Martinsville, Virginia, is full-time, and works the 1st shift. Extended hours may be required based on production needs, including work after regular business hours and on weekends. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and not currently enrolled in high school.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old and not currently enrolled in high school.
Knowledge of common quality-control techniques and procedures.
Intermediate-level math and writing skills.
Intermediate-level communication skills.
Ability to test and read scales.
Ability to complete paperwork neatly and accurately.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills.
Flexible work schedule between Production and Quality.
Ability to use various software programs, computers, and iPads.
Ability to obtain HACCP certification.
Ability to care for laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

Gather samples and perform weight, moisture, salometer, and pH checks on products.
Complete quality-control paperwork and forward it to appropriate recipients.
Check packaging for seal integrity, dates, vacuum, and proper caddie and case counts.
Communicate quality issues to the PMO and supervisor.
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Follow GMP/HAACP procedures.
Perform daily pre-operational sanitation inspections.
Perform micro swab procedures.
Assist with other tasks as assigned.
Care for laboratory equipment.
