About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Dry Etch Equipment Technician to join our A Shift team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, solving problems, and working as part of a team in a high-tech manufacturing environment. Candidates with backgrounds in electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, automation, military technical specialties, or other hands-on technical fields are encouraged to apply. Semiconductor dry etch experience is preferred, but we are committed to training the right candidate. The successful candidate will support the safe, reliable operation of dry etch equipment by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, completing repairs, and partnering with engineering and manufacturing teams to minimize downtime.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training, coursework, military experience, or an associate degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, automation, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to following procedures accurately.
  • Ability to learn complex equipment systems and technical processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and accurate shift updates.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and remain focused in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to work in a cleanroom, wear required personal protective equipment and complete any medical exams/physicals as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment or processes.
  • Experience with dry etch or plasma processing equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, RF, or automated systems.
  • Experience working with tools, test equipment, schematics, drawings, or maintenance procedures.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance, facilities, automation, manufacturing, military maintenance, or a similar technical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and basic corrective maintenance on dry etch equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems using a structured and logical approach.
  • Identify potential causes of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, gas delivery, and control-system issues.
  • Respond to equipment alarms and production-impacting issues in a timely manner.
  • Follow procedures, schematics, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Replace, clean, inspect, and adjust equipment components as directed.
  • Support equipment startups, shutdowns and qualifications.
  • Escalate complex or recurring issues to experienced technicians, engineers, or leadership.
  • Accurately document troubleshooting activities, repairs, parts replaced, and equipment condition.
  • Perform work carefully and verify equipment operation before returning tools to production.
  • Communicate equipment status, open issues, and follow-up actions during shift pass-downs.
  • Work closely with equipment engineers, process engineers, manufacturing personnel, and other technicians.
  • Participate in training, skill development, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow all safety, cleanroom, chemical, gas, electrical, lockout/tagout, and environmental procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
