About The Position

The (USA) Technician, General Facilities Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, executing repairs across multiple trades, managing work orders, and coordinating with contractors while adhering to regulatory standards. The technician supports continuous improvement efforts by applying expertise to optimize maintenance processes and deliver quality results. Strong attention to detail, compliance with safety guidelines, and effective communication with stakeholders are essential to maintaining operational excellence and supporting business objectives. The Facility Services HVAC/R team is dedicated to maintaining essential systems through collaboration and ongoing skill development. Team members work alongside experienced technicians to enhance expertise in HVAC/R maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance. Requirements

  • Proven experience in performing preventive maintenance and facility repair to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
  • Skilled in electrical diagnostics and repairs, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues using technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in utilizing hand and power tools, hoists, and other equipment for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Ability to manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination while ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail in documenting maintenance activities, repair needs, and capital expense information.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship aligned with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program
  • License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located
  • Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures following established schedules and guidelines.
  • Inspect, clean, and repair facilities equipment or fixtures, documenting wear, repair needs, and replacement requirements.
  • Conduct major and minor repairs using multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, diagnosing issues with appropriate tools and manuals.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company quality standards.
  • Order parts, track expenses, submit warranty claims, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Provide expert advice to support continuous improvement and align maintenance efforts with business needs.
