About The Position

The Technician, General Facilities Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role requires expertise in multiple trades, including electrical diagnostics, plumbing, and general facility repairs. The technician will manage work orders, coordinate with contractors, and comply with regulatory standards while supporting continuous improvement efforts. Requirements

  • Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and facility repairs to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, repairs, and plumbing systems maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs for accurate troubleshooting and repair.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment for maintenance tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Experience managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and coordinating with contractors.
  • Effective documentation and reporting skills for maintenance activities and repair needs.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and continuous improvement in facility maintenance.
  • Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program
  • License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located
  • Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures following established schedules and guidelines.
  • Inspect, clean, and repair facilities equipment, documenting signs of wear and recommending necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Conduct major and minor repairs using multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and warranty claims while adhering to regulatory requirements.
