About The Position

Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities equipment or fixtures. Performs major and minor repairs on facilities equipment or fixtures utilizing multiple craft skills. Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors. Demonstrates uptodate expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Demonstrates engagement and commitment to the team, developing others through feedback, coaching, mentoring, and developmental opportunities. Requirements

  • Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program
  • License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located
  • Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities equipment or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines.
  • Inspects, cleans, and repairs facilities equipment or fixtures.
  • Observes and documents signs of wear and tear.
  • Gathers capital expense information and recommends repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs.
  • Determines replacement needs and documents preventive maintenance activities.
  • Performs major and minor repairs on facilities equipment or fixtures by utilizing multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment).
  • Inspects, operates, or tests facilities equipment or fixtures to diagnose issues.
  • Dismantles equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts.
  • Diagnoses problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.
  • Utilizes hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment.
  • Provides prompt response to emergency calls and documents repair activities.
  • Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information (e.g., expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs).
  • Conducts price comparison of parts and travel-related costs.
  • Orders parts and replacement equipment and tracks orders.
  • Records purchases and usage.
  • Submits warranty claims.
  • Complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensures quality work is completed that complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensures contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and meet contract requirements.
  • Identifies and reports deficiencies.
  • Unloads and stores equipment and transports equipment between facilities.
  • Demonstrates uptodate expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices.
  • Supports and aligns efforts to meet customer and business needs.
