About The Position

Provide installation, technical start-up, programming, and checkout for Building Access Control Systems, Fire Alarm, Parking Revenue Controls, and similar low voltage solutions. Maintain and grow the “Customer for Life” concept for existing and new customers. Performs related work as required. This is a field position with the primary responsibility to handle all aspects of service, installation, programming, and startup of Access Control, Burglary, Fire, Parking, Surveillance, and related systems. Primary market focus is Commercial Office, Data Centers, Government, Industrial, Healthcare, and Education.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of proven commercial enterprise type Access Control, Surveillance Video, Fire or Parking Revenue Control system experience.
Able to troubleshoot related serviceable systems.
Local 347 VDV Technician
2 Year Associates Degree in Related Technology
High School Diploma
Valid driver’s license
Ability to perform all necessary duties unsupervised
Knowledge of common Windows Office applications
Knowledge of Ethernet and serial network communication formats and hardware configurations
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
Ability to take direction and fulfill commitments

Understanding of construction site safety and display a high awareness of your surroundings
Effectively prioritize and balance the “big picture” and immediate responsibilities

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Microsoft SQL or other database applications
Fire Alarm System knowledge is preferred for this position as well.
Obtain your NICET 1 and 2 certifications to maintain your State of Iowa Alarm License.
Obtain your 30 HR OSHA certification within the 1st year.

Responsibilities

Handle all aspects of service, installation, programming, and startup of Access Control, Burglary, Fire, Parking, Surveillance, and related systems.
Program all Access Control Panels, Workstation Software, Surveillance Video systems, Fire Alarm, Parking Revenue Control system software and associated security services via their custom software application packages.
Work with IT staff to coordinate the integration into customer networks and be willing to learn advanced network configurations and setup that apply to each system.
Install mechanical lock systems that are either wirefree or wired lock system.
Ensures customer satisfaction by continual follow-up, communication skills and complete final checkout of service and construction jobs where assigned.
Provide sales support as needed to assist Project Manager to obtain recurring business.
Be the technical expert for our solutions and be willing to continue to learn our systems and provide value to customers.
Assigned service calls to keep our offerings up and running with quick response and thorough checkout.
Provide documentation for operation and maintenance after a project is complete and communicate changes and modifications with Application Engineer.
Attend turnover meetings between Project Manager and Applications Engineer discussing project scope, safety, timelines, etc.
Be part of an On-Call schedule.
Travel overnight on occasions to install or startup a system that is out of town.
