About The Position
The Technician, Facility Services, Irrigation, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems to ensure optimal exterior facility performance. This role involves operating heavy machinery, conducting seasonal maintenance, troubleshooting system issues, and coordinating with management and partners to meet service expectations. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, accurate documentation, and effective communication across various channels. Additionally, the technician supports facility sustainability efforts, manages equipment upkeep, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and maintain safe, functional outdoor environments. The Facility Maintenance team ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of facilities and equipment. They provide high-quality maintenance services that support daily organizational goals. Requirements
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing irrigation systems and components.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery, vehicles, and specialized tools safely and effectively.
- Strong knowledge of seasonal maintenance procedures, including winterizing and spring start-up of irrigation systems.
- Proficient in using electronic devices to complete work orders, maintain documentation, and communicate with team members.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety by following policies, identifying hazards, and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with managers, coworkers, and external partners.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on business needs and facility requirements.
- Experience conducting equipment inspections and performing routine maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
- 1 year’s experience in material handling equipment, or related area.
- 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in landscaping/irrigation with plumbing and electrical troubleshooting
- Experience interpreting design drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Experience with water conservation practices.
- Proficiency in speaking and understanding Spanish.
- State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California).
