This position leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools. It identifies customer needs and business priorities, coordinates and executes work assignments, and provides advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved. The role models and helps team members adapt to change or new challenges. The technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs various irrigation systems components, including wiring, controllers, valves, heads, rotors, main and lateral lines, and drip lines. They conduct tasks such as pressure testing, trenching, and pulling pipe for potable and non-potable systems. The role operates special and/or heavy equipment and vehicles, orders irrigation supplies, spare parts, and other equipment as authorized, and obtains quotes for services from outside contractors as needed. They recommend and assist in prioritizing upgrades and replacement of systems and equipment, and respond to work order requests and needs for assistance through various communication methods. Technology is leveraged for completing work orders and maintaining records, logs, and documentation. A safe work environment is maintained by observing and adhering to all safety policies and procedures, reporting safety violations, and ensuring assigned equipment, tools, safety items, vehicles, trailers, and other items are maintained in proper working order. Seasonal maintenance for winterizing and spring start-up of irrigation systems is performed. Compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity is demonstrated and promoted. Other facility-related maintenance duties are performed as assigned.
