About The Position

As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration Technician at our local retail store, your role will support and oversee repair within the Walmart facilities Refrigeration equipment team and assets by utilizing commercial and Refrigeration skills and using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.

This role involves maintaining and repairing Walmart facility's Refrigeration equipment and assets. You will utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders and document repair activities. Prompt response to emergency maintenance calls is essential. The job includes inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues and completing all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely. Ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

• 2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration maintenance
• Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience
• Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
• 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
• Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located
• Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
