About The Position

This role is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures. The technician will inspect, clean, and repair facilities, equipment, or fixtures, observing and documenting signs of wear and tear. They will also gather capital expense information, recommend repair needs, and determine replacement needs. The role involves managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors, including ordering and tracking parts and replacement equipment. Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations is crucial, ensuring quality work that meets federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company quality standards. The technician will also maintain company vehicles, safely operate motor vehicles, and ensure all required documents are in order. Additionally, they will operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment, performing pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections. The role requires leading and participating in teams, developing and implementing processes, and demonstrating compliance with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity. Requirements

  • At least five years of verifiable electrical experience.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong working knowledge of three-phase power systems, building lighting controls, and commercial electrical infrastructure.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing power-related issues throughout commercial facilities.
  • Capable of diagnosing complex electrical problems in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
  • Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program.
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located.
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

  • Complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensures quality work is completed that complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensures contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and meet contract requirements.
  • Identifies and reports deficiencies.
  • Unloads and stores equipment.
  • Transports equipment between facilities.
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports the company’s mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

  • Maintains company vehicles in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and transports vehicles for required maintenance, ensuring beforehand that alternate driving support is arranged.
  • Safely operates motor vehicles and ensures that the vehicle has all required documents.
  • Checks fuel and water levels, brake condition, signals, and lights.
  • Submits maintenance invoices for payment.
  • Verifies the coverage and validity of vehicle insurance.
  • Wears company uniform and badge in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Operates, inspects, and maneuvers heavy machinery and powered equipment (for example, forklifts, material handling equipment, industrial machines, shop equipment, vehicles) in accordance with training, certification requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Performs pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe, functional, and compliant with applicable standards.
  • Identifies unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or potential hazards and takes appropriate corrective action or escalates as required.
  • Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges.
