About The Position

Volkswagen of Puyallup is looking for an experienced Service Dispatcher to help drive efficiency, technician productivity, and exceptional customer service in our service department. This role is ideal for someone who has worked as a technician, service advisor, foreman, or other fixed operations role and understands how a dealership service department truly operates. The right candidate knows how to balance technician skill sets, workload, appointment priorities, waiter expectations, diagnostic complexity, and shop flow.

Requirements

• Previous automotive dealership experience required
• Strong understanding of dealership service operations
• Excellent organization, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Nice To Haves

• Prior technician and/or service advisor experience strongly preferred
• Experience with dealership software systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Dispatch repair orders to technicians based on skill level, certifications, workload, and job type
• Manage daily shop workflow to maximize technician productivity and efficiency
• Prioritize waiters, diagnostics, warranty repairs, comebacks, internal work, and scheduled appointments
• Monitor work in progress and adjust assignments throughout the day as priorities shift
• Communicate effectively with service advisors, technicians, parts, and management
• Help reduce bottlenecks, delays, and downtime in the service department
• Support department production goals while maintaining fair workload distribution
