About The Position

The purpose of this job is to conduct blending operations and provide equipment maintenance at Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) blending plants. This role is responsible for the daily DEF blending process, collection and submission of product samples, and performing light plant maintenance to prevent equipment failure. The technician will collaborate with the DEF Rail Movements Specialist to schedule deliveries, troubleshoot equipment repairs with guidance, and ensure all safety and operational procedures are followed. This position also involves recommending improvements for DEF plant operations, assisting in implementing operational changes, and traveling to other DEF sites as needed. The role requires modeling behaviors that support the company’s common purpose and ensuring compliance with all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required
  • Valid state driver’s license and positive driving history required

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two years’ technical maintenance experience preferred
  • Basic Microsoft office skills preferred
  • Good technical skills and understanding of flow measurement equipment and systems
  • Ability to use hand tools to replace or repair pumps and other heavy equipment

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily DEF blending process and collection and submission of product samples
  • Perform light plant maintenance (e.g., greasing equipment, monitoring the water system, replacing equipment filters and resin beds, sweeping) to prevent equipment failure
  • Collaborate daily with the DEF Rail Movements Specialist to schedule rail car deliveries of DEF concentrate to plant(s)
  • Troubleshoot, with guidance from the Assistant Manager, equipment repairs for technical and mechanical issues; maintain inventory of replacement parts
  • Ensure all safety and operational procedures are followed at the blending site(s)
  • Recommend improvements for DEF plant operations and assist in implementing any operational changes at direction of manager
  • Travel to other DEF sites to conduct blending operations as needed
  • Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Complete other duties as assigned
