About The Position

The Technician Automation role offers the opportunity for you to be responsible for providing technical support related to industrial automation, controls and programming for underground and surface at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operations. This role is to recruit for an existing vacancy. The roster will be 7 days on and 7 days off, 12-hour shifts. Whilst residential is preferred, the role is also open to FIFO and DIDO, with access to our camp accommodation. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $110,0000 to $135,000 CAD.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in instrumentation, electrical, industrial automation or related field.
  • 2 years of experience as an Automation Technician, Systems Integrator or Controls Engineer.
  • Exposure to PLC, HMI, and distributed control systems programming.
  • Sound knowledge of Foxboro, Wonderware, and ION software.
  • Hand-On Experience with Allen Bradley, and Ge Fanuc.
  • VFD and Auto controls.
  • Ability to create and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Good working knowledge of IP networks and wireless technologies.
  • Ability to use MS Office suite of products.
  • Reasonable troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to comprehend and follow operating manuals manufacturer instructions.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving ability.
  • Competent computer skills.
  • Cooperative, flexible team player.

Responsibilities

  • Program, upgrade, and maintain PLCs, HMIs and DCS systems.
  • Provide technical assistance and/or training to operating personnel.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs and control systems.
  • Maintain, update, document, and backup software applications.
  • Assist instrumentation and electrical personnel in troubleshooting and implement solutions.
  • Provide assistance troubleshooting and maintaining fiber optic and copper communication networks.
  • Support operations with control systems working with underground and mill departments.
  • Update AutoCAD drawings and drawing database related to instrumentation and electrical projects.
  • Program and maintain the Energy management system modifications.
  • Clearly, report details of work completion and any pertinent information related to the task and update all drawings and prints.
  • Generate various reports, as required.
