About The Position

GFL Bowmanville is looking for industrial technicians to support the liquids line of business! This role involves day-to-day monitoring of assigned projects, maintaining the cleanliness of tools, equipment, and the shop. Responsibilities include power washing, high-pressure water blasting, line snaking, drain and pipe inspections, and industrial cleaning of chemical non-hazardous and hazardous wastes. The position may also require assisting on Vacuum Trucks/plant operations and performing Confined Space Entry/Rescue. The job entails working in tight or cramped spaces and using respiratory protection. Physical tasks include shoveling, using a jackhammer, squeegee, scraping, and heavy lifting. Technicians will operate various vehicles and equipment such as pick-up trucks, utility trailers, forklifts, excavators, bobcats, aerial boom lifts, and scissor lifts.

Requirements

• Must have a G class license at minimum.
• Must be willing to be clean shaven.
• Ability to work flexible hours/shifts, days, evenings, nights & possibly weekends or holidays.
• Must be comfortable with driving and maneuvering a pick-up truck and trailer unit.
• Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
• Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Nice To Haves

• 2-5 years’ experience in Industrial Cleaning and Maintenance strongly preferred.
• Previous experience with Vacuum Trucks, Industrial Power-washing or Water-blasting, or Liquid Waste Industry experience strongly preferred.
• Previous experience with Confined Space Entry or Work at Heights an asset.
• Experience working with Respirators and Supplied Air Systems an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate Pick-up truck, utility trailer, forklift, excavator, bobcat, etc.
• Operate Aerial boom lift/Scissor Lift as required.
