About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on rental equipment safely and effectively to avoid downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment makes and models, develop skills for a career track in service or operations management, and work with a safety-focused team. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required depending on location.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
- Three to five years of mechanic experience with similar diesel or heavy equipment, or specialty equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment, is strongly preferred.
