Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in OSP construction
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools
• Basic construction knowledge
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Capability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Willingness to attend company-provided training
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed
• Must pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle check

Responsibilities

• Preparing job sites for construction, including potholing, digging bore pits, and ground restoration
• Assisting with the placement of conduits and the installation of fiber optic cables
• Helping with tasks such as accessing false ceilings and crawl spaces for building entrance work
• Locating existing utilities using air or hydro vac, or hand digging and backfilling as needed
• Learning to operate heavy equipment and using various construction tools
• Following established safety rules on job sites and while traveling to maintain a safe environment
• Restoring ground conditions after excavation, including sod, sidewalks, and asphalt
• Performing general construction work under the direction of a foreman or supervisor
• Strong communication skills for effective and professional interaction with team members and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships
