Our manufacturing group uses a variety of technical documents to safely and effectively produce Daktronics products. This position focuses on helping author, edit, format, and publish both new and existing documents within the manufacturing process. We are looking for someone who enjoys learning complex systems, asking questions, and transforming technical information into clear, user-friendly instructions. Successful candidates are curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to improve customer experience through effective documentation. This position is designed to help students develop professional technical communication skills and gain practical experience working alongside engineers, product managers, and technical experts.

Requirements

  • Student registered in at least 12 credits.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in English for Information Systems, Technical Communications, English, or Mass Communications.
  • Submit three writing samples (e.g., manuals, research papers, newspaper articles).
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Comfortable learning new documentation, content management, illustration, and authoring tools.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Daktronics does not sponsor, renew, or extend immigration visas for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred applicant will be in their sophomore or junior year of school.
  • Only strong academic performers will be considered and must maintain an acceptable GPA.
