As a Technical Writer based in Morgan Hill, CA, you will have responsibility for creating and editing a variety of end-user product manuals and media with the support of engineering and product management. You will research and translate technical information into manuals for non-technical and technical users. You will conduct interviews with users and technical staff to gather data for documentation, and for guidance on final presentation. You may be responsible for contributing to, and documenting, internal processes and supporting product marketing collateral development. You will recommend content and formats that are responsive to technical and customer requirements and produce information products that conform to company documentation and quality assurance standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Communications, or related field, plus 1 year experience as a technical writer or content producer, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to create manuals and related collateral with illustrations using professional DTP programs is essential.
Advanced computer skills are required. The successful candidate will be computer literate in a corporate Windows environment using Microsoft Office, Adobe development tools, and related products.
Familiarity with general electronic test and measurement equipment is required.
Experience with Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator, and PhotoShop is required.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and balance your workflow.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Receptive to feedback.

Nice To Haves

Experience with spectrum, modulation, and vector network analyzers is desired.
Basic familiarity with computer programming concepts is a plus.
Experience with Adobe InDesign and WebWorks ePublisher is desired.
Experience in structured content authoring and enterprise content management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain product technical manuals and media from initial plan to publication.
Write product descriptions, procedures, and maintenance tasks.
Create technical and marketing illustrations.
Primary document responsibilities are product user and programming manuals, service manuals, technical datasheets, application notes, and catalogs.
