MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Technical Writer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the customer’s mission. Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, including full diagram schematics, manuals, and operational procedures to ensure consistency in standards and clarity of processes. Develop and maintain comprehensive Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to support project management, workflows, and compliance efforts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and subject matter experts, to gather and organize technical information. Ensure all documentation complies with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Review and edit existing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with current systems or requirements. Maintain records of revisions, version control, and documentation repositories to ensure accessibility and traceability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, or related field. Experience may be substituted for education.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a technology-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard writing styles or government-specific guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand and translate technical information and concepts into clear documentation.
  • Experience developing and maintaining POA&Ms or similar project plans.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to identifying gaps or inconsistencies in documentation.
  • Familiarity with Agile or ITIL frameworks, as related to technical writing.
  • Top Secret clearance required.
  • US Citizenship required.
