  • 4–6 years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably supporting technical or IT service delivery documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical and functional discussion into structured written documentation without altering substantive content or decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and consistency.
  • Ability to work independently on documentation production while deferring content authority and sign-off to the appropriate tier lead.
  • Proficiency with standard documentation tools and version control practices.
  • Familiarity with Jira or comparable structured ticketing/documentation workflows.
  • Ability to manage documentation across multiple concurrent projects and meet gate-driven deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the government contracting industry.
  • Experience supporting IT service delivery, software development lifecycle, or technical support documentation.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Jira-based ticketing environments and structured intake-to-delivery workflows.
  • Ability to create supporting visual aids such as process diagrams, workflow charts, and process maps.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and maintain governance-required documentation across the program's service tiers, including Functional Requirements Documents, Technical Analysis Packages, Build Checklists, Release Notes, and QA/Code Review documentation, under the direction and sign-off authority of the responsible tier lead.
  • Participate in functional and technical analysis sessions to gather requirements directly from tier leads, analysts, and subject matter experts, translating discussion into structured, conformant written artifacts.
  • Ensure all documentation conforms to established program templates, naming conventions, and quality gate standards.
  • Maintain consistency of style, terminology, and structure across documentation produced for different tiers and teams.
  • Support Jira-based documentation workflows, including maintaining artifact linkage between tickets and their associated governance documents.
  • Revise documentation through successive gate reviews based on feedback from team members and management.
  • Manage documentation workload across multiple tiers concurrently and prioritize according to team deadlines and work cycles.
