About The Position

GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for an experienced Technical Writer! We’re looking for a detailed-oriented Technical Writer to create clear, engaging documentation that supports users of complex underwater systems. In this role you’ll develop high-quality manuals, IETMs, and training materials that simplify technical information for operators and maintainers. Collaborating with engineers, SMEs, and program managers, you’ll turn detailed input into accessible content enhanced with visuals. You’ll ensure consistency with internal standards like S1000D, and contribute to a range of writing projects. Requirements

  • Create high-quality, user-focused product documentation such as operations and maintenance manuals, IETMs (Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals), and training materials.
  • Incorporate diagrams and illustrations into written content to increase user’s understanding.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, trainers, and program managers to gather and validate technical content.
  • Tailor content for customers, operators, and maintainers of underwater systems with the goal of simplifying complex information, making it easy to understand.
  • Maintain consistency with internal style guides and documentation standards and specifications (such as S1000D).
  • Support other writing assignments such as program documentation, technical reports, proposals and internal documents.
  • Follow internal company procedures for publications development and document control.
  • Represent the technical publications team at project meetings and design reviews, as required.
  • All candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security clearances.
